The Cholla Course at We-Ko-Pa is dramatic to say the least as it plays
across desert washes and atop ridges flowing seamlessly into greens
tucked into hillsides and desert arroyos.
Cholla is one of the most
pristine desert golf experiences in the Southwest. Threading through an
open expanse overlooking the Verde and Salt River Valleys, Red Mountain,
and the Superstition Mountains, Cholla preserves the essence and purity
of desert-style golf. In fact, you will often hear as much talk of the
setting and sensational views as you will about the incredible golf
course at hand.
The final word and possibly most important characteristic of the project, is its lack of surrounding land uses, which will allow this venue to be a perpetual native Sonoran Desert retreat.
Also on site - The Saguaro Course at We-Ko-Pa is a desert golf experience unlike any other. Integrating design elements not commonly found in the desert, the course is built for walking and has more in common with older, more traditional courses where greens are close to tees and the course follows the natural movement of the land.
Coore and Crenshaw are the design team behind the Saguaro Course
The two courses
WeKoPa Cholla and Wekopa Saguaro are ranked number 1 and 4 in the State for
public courses.
