St Andrews Links
From A-Z
A - The Old Course was originally played in a clockwise direction until Tom Morris introduced a second green at the 1st Hole and the anti clockwise direction became the norm. In fact many of the bunkers are designed to catch golfers playing the clockwise circuit open on the very days it is played this way.
B - Ballot Despite its overwheming popularity the Old Course still upholds the tradition of a daily ballot for around half of the following days tee times. (no play on Sundays or tournament days) Anyone can play with the appropriate HCP reflecting the non-elitiest spirit of St Andrews Links being open and accessible to all golfers.
C - Courses intotal there are 117 holes at the six 18 Hole & one 9 Hole options. Three Championship Old, New & Jubilee and the less intimidating Eden course links experiences. With the Strathtyrum & Balgove for high HCP & beginners.
