The Grotto Bay Beach Resort sits on a lush tropical estate alongside the water’s edge in Bailey’s Bay between the historic town of St Georges and Hamilton, the island’s capital. Scattered over 21 acres the eleven residences of traditional Bermudian architecture overlook the clear blue waters dotted with small islands.
The internationally famous and exclusive Mid Ocean Club was built in 1921 and is rated as one of the world’s finest golf courses and patronised by the rich and famous from across the globe. Designed by the celebrated architect, Charles Blair Macdonald, Mid Ocean has been the host of major golf events including the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
Port Royal is another famous Bermuda Golf Course that has hosted the PGA Grand Slam of Golf for many years and is now host of the PGA Bermuda Championship. Robert Trent Jones designed this wonderful course which has sweeping views over the Atlantic Ocean. The signature hole is the 16th which is a spectacular par three that hugs the coastline and is the most photographed hole in Bermuda. Tuckers Point was designed in 1932 by Charles H. Banks, and later enhanced by Roger Rulewich who was the former chief designer for Robert Trent Jones. This pristine and challenging course features undulating fairways and elevated tees with fabulous panoramic views.
Belmont Hills has wonderful views across the bay towards Hamilton’s beautiful waterfront and is a showcase for Bermuda’s natural beauty whilst keeping you focused on golf with strategically laid out bunkers and multi-tiered greens.
Turtle Hill is recognised as one of the finest Par Three 18 hole courses in the world and is a must play during your visit to Bermuda. At just under 3000 yards it offers a refreshing and unique golfing experience that is hugely enjoyable. With lush sub-tropical surroundings, breath-taking sea views and dramatic elevation changes, you’ll need accuracy, patience and prudent club selection. The round at Turtle Hill will be both a mixed pairs stableford competition for the Turtle Trophy and individual stableford competitions for men and ladies.
