Eugene, Cascades & Coast Region
Tokatee Golf Club in the Cascades Mountains has views of snow-capped peaks, shares the greens with the occasional wildlife and offers GolfBoards as a fun replacement to golf carts. The Cascades rivers also offer excellent fly-fishing and whitewater rafting activities.
In Florence, on the Central Oregon Coast, Sandpines Golf Links has recently changed hands, now called Florence Golf Links. (Pictured) This windswept setting and stunning course designed by Rees Jones, offers a challenging and rewarding day on the links. The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area just south of Florence is best enjoyed on a dune buggy or try your luck on a sand board!
Just north of the Eugene’s Mahlon Sweet Airport (EUG) is Fiddler’s Green Golf Center, the largest Pro Shop on a golf course. Packed to the gills with equipment, clothing, shoes and seemingly absolutely everything a golfer could want. They encourage their shoppers to test out the equipment at their driving range.
A little further into wine country is Diamond Woods Golf Course and the Inn at Diamond Woods, an executive lodging facility located in the northwest foothills just 15 minutes from the Eugene Airport. Sitting just off the tenth tee of Diamond Woods Golf Course, the Inn offers an amazing view of the Willamette Valley. Located close to over five wineries and twenty minutes from sailing on Fern Ridge Reservoir.
For time off the links, the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region boasts of iconic wineries, distinctive breweries and cozy distilleries in urban and countryside settings. As the second largest city in the state, the cultural arts thrive in Eugene with music, theater and galleries and markets.
