Originally designed by its own members, the 18-hole parkland style course has undergone significant improvements over the years with the consultation of professionals. The greens, primarily Poa Annua, require meticulous care but provide an excellent putting surface when managed correctly. The fairways, semi-rough, tee boxes, and rough are being transitioned to Kikuyu grass, the standard in South Africa, ensuring a lush and consistent playing experience.
Westlake Golf Course is immaculately maintained, with daily care given to the greens and bunkers. The fairways and rough are regularly mowed, with the rough kept short to aid in ball location, offering golfers a true test of skill. Constant improvements ensure the course remains in top condition, ready to welcome enthusiasts. The club features a driving range for short warm-ups of no more than 160m, along with two chipping and putting greens surrounded by a bunker to refine your short game. Established in 1932, Westlake Golf Club blends old-world charm with modern amenities, providing an atmosphere of conviviality and camaraderie for all visitors.
