The famous golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and inaugurated in 1993, was selected for the Turespaña Master Open of Andalucia in 1994, and has been the site of the Volvo Masters Andalucia from 1997 to 2001, flagship of the PGA European Tour. The 66 best players of Europe took part in this Tournament.
The golf course is located in a property of 160 hectares, with a diversity of flora and fauna, for the golfer to enjoy during a round of golf.
Since 1997, the year of our first Volvo Masters, Montecastillo has developed a technical and aesthetic renovation plan for the golf course, investing between 1 to 2 million Euros per year, planting hundred year-old olive trees, installing new drainage systems, marmolina sand, new golf machinery, etc.
To complement this great golf course, the practice facilities are excellent. Comprising a driving range with a 3000 sq. metres Bermuda Grass tee, covered bays, large putting green,
short game area and the unique VIP Academy, with 1800 sq. metres of Bermuda Grass tee, putting green, short game area and an Academy building with video lounge, kitchen, toilet & shower and a professional’s office. This private area is available for hire by visiting professionals or groups.
