West Ireland Golfing Experience starts with the greeting you receive
from the first person you meet. From here on the magical isle enchants
you with the mix of landscapes, small villages, fine restaurants and the
worlds greatest links courses.
Golf here is not just a game but a way of life.
This journey starts in the Shannon Region and follows the coast through the land of the triple challenge County Clare spending 2 nights at the Doonbeg resort and playing at Doonbeg and Lahinch. Possibly stopping for a quick view at the Cliffs of Moher, Irelands most vistited tourist attraction. From there the scenic journey continues south across the Tarbert-Kilmer ferry to Ballybunion in County Kerry.
Passing through Tralee to Killarney the
Hub of the region. Ideally located for a three night stay at this
lively and historic town the gateway to the Ring of Kerry. Awaiting is Agahoe Heights with its spectacular views over Killarney Golf and Fishing Club. A leisurely round on Killen host of the 2011 Irish open and a stroll around this vibrant town will have you refreshed for the next day.
A stunning start to the day following the coast road over the mountain at Cahersiveen before dropping into Waterville. Founded in 1889 it is one of the oldest courses in Ireland and truely amazing place to play golf.
The scenic route continues along the south side of the Ring Of Kerry to Kenmare before crossing the east into County Cork. The final drive to the historic town of Kinsale and the dramatic piece of Ireland jutting into the Atlantic Ocean that is Old Head. An over night in the luxury accomodation overlooking the sea and the lighthouse will be permently etched on your heart.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Shannon Airport and collect rental car short drive to Doonbeg Resort and relax in this luxury coastal haven. Overnight Doonbeg.
Day 2 Play the Greg Norman Doonbeg Links course designed by nature and using the "least disturbance" policy with stunning Atlantic views. Overnight Doonbeg.
Day 3 Just along the coast the famous Lahinch golf club awaits. Founded in 1882 proud of its reputation as a stern test. Spend the day in the company of legends. Overnight Doonbeg.
Day 4 Taking the Kilrush-Tarbert carferry across to Co.Kerry then ahead to Ballybunion. Consistantly ranked as one of the world,s top ten courses a breathtaking challenge. Overnight in Killarney.
Day 5 A mouthwatering expectant drive awaits and is laid out in front of you. Waterville is a mystical experience with a clubhouse welcome like no other. Look for your national flag as you arrive ! Overnight Killarney.
Day 6 Awake at Aghadoe Heights Hotel fantastic views over the Lakes of Killarney and the days challenge ahead the 2011 Irish Open Killeen course. Overnight Killarney.
Day 7 Dramatic scenes and caddies await to guide you through arguably the most spectacular course on earth at Old Head, Kinsale . Overnight Old Head.
Day 8 Return rental car and depart from Cork airport
