History of the St Jude Invitational
Brooks Kopeka is the reigning champion, having won in 2019, and the last decade has seen
some of the top golfers pick up the championship. Internationally renowned, the WGC-
FedEx St Jude has had winners from all over the globe including Justin Thomas, Hideki
Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods. This par-70 is a big money course, and last
year’s winner took home 10.7m, so the top golfing stars will surely be out in force for this
year’s event.
Doing Some Good
As well as enjoying the golf, the invitational also does a lot of charity work for the St Jude
Children’s research hospital, having raised m since 1970.
When to Visit
I know that you must be wondering about logistics, and the tournament takes place at TPC
Southwind in Memphis, from the 1 st to the 5 th of July 2020. A great time to visit the USA
becomes an even better one when world-class golf is on show.

TPC Southwind is a PGA quality course in Memphis, Tennessee, and is host to fifty of the
best players in the world for the St Jude invitational. There are a number of exceptional and
challenging holes on the course, none more so than hole 11. The par-3 hole requires using
an iron to make it over the water to the small green, guarded by a strategically placed
bunker. Hole 3 and hole 16 are the two par-5 holes on the course, the former a 561 yard
downhill to the green.
