Hotel City Tax in Portugal

Just a polite notice that from 1st January 2019 several city halls will be implementing city taxes at hotels in Portugal. This charge will be taken locally and added to your bill at check out.

So far the official information we have got :

Cascais 1€ per person per day up to 7 days in a row in the same establishment

Lisboa 1€ per person per day up to 7 days in arow in the  same establishment

Óbidos 1€ per person per day up to 5 days in a row in the same establishment

Porto 2€ per person per day up to 7days in a row in the same establishment

Vila Nova de Gaia 1€ per person per day up to 7 days in a row in the same establishment  to the 31^st March and 2€ per person per day from 01^stApril to 30^th September

Santa Cruz (Madeira) 1€ per person per day up to 5days in a row in the same establishment

Because we might not be informed by all municipalities in order to avoid any issues for both sides please be aware of these charges.
