Marina de la Torre Golf Club was the first of five new challenging golf courses that have recently been built in the Mojacar region of Northern Almeria Spain since 2000. The course was designed by Ramon Espinosa to have two very distinct halves. The first three holes and the last four holes overlook the Mediterranean sea while the middle 11 holes are built on the other side of a hill overlooking a valley in the foothills of Mojacar Pueblo. The course provides splendid views of the Mediterranean sea. With dramatic tee shots, excellent fairways and three lakes strategically placed along the way to make play all the more interesting golfers of all abilities will enjoy playing this course.
The Almeria region of Spain is said to have one of the best all year round climates in Europe. With over 3000 hours of sunshine and very little rainfall Almeria is becoming a great new golf holiday destination. The winters are general sunny, warm and dry while the summers are cooler than other Spanish golfing destinations. With the introduction of five challenging golf courses in the Mojacar area of Almeria this is an ideal location for playing year round golf.
