Overview Eichenheim Golf Course
The Eichenheim Golf Club, one of Europe’s top golf courses, lies nestled in the Kitzbühel Alps with direct views of the Streif race course and the Gamsstadt or ‘City of the Chamois’. The 71-par and 6.092 m long course is a challenge for even the most discerning of golfers, encompassing as it does 116 meters of rising fairways and 512 meter long par-5 holes. At the same time, the 18-hole course created by the star US designer, Kyle Philipps, takes players on a relaxing yet challenging journey through the beauty of the Tyrolean Mountains. At the end of the day - taking in the view over the course from the newly renovated club house, enjoying an aperitif in the Golf Bistro followed by dinner in the new gourmet restaurant “Petit Tirolia” under star chef Bobby Bräuer - all go to show that Golf Eichenheim is home to the ‘special’ things in life.
The art of working with nature
Kyle Philipp’s philosophy that a golf course must fully incorporate the elements of the natural environment in which it is created, is clearly evident in every stroke played at the course at Eichenheim. Gentle hills are followed by steep inclines. The bunkers are embedded in the lush green fairways. Deciduous forests and streamlets left to follow their natural course constitute challenging obstacles, set against the beautiful and varying backdrop of the Wild Kaiser, the Hahnenkamm and the High Tauern mountains. “Anyone who plays at Eichenheim enjoys a golfing experience that is uniquely integral to nature and yet simultaneously offers an extreme sporting challenge on 365 days of the year,” says managing director, Ulrich Drewitz. “The golfing world is becoming more aware of everything that makes Eichenheim so special. Top company tournaments and world-renowned amateur golfers are amongst our regular guests. Eichenheim is currently ranked among the Top 100 golf courses in Europe: it is our aim to be included in the Top 30,” Drewitz continues.
Colorado meets Kitzbühel in our Golf House
“Colorado meets Kitzbühel” in the architecture of the newly renovated golf house. With the lobby, an atrium with built-in stage, the golf lounge, the golf bistro, the gourmet restaurant and a terrace that offers a breathtaking view of the course, our golf house offers the finest in luxury lifestyle – and this on 365 days a year. The floodlit putting green, ideal for perfecting short shots after sunset, is just as much a highlight of Eichenheim golf course as is the ‘schnapps-wall’. “In the ‘schnapps-wall’ every member has his or her own glass locker. At the start of the season, this is filled with a bottle of special blend fine Eichenheim brandy. And of course we hope that this Tyrolean ‘warm welcome’ will have been savored by the end of the following year,” explains marketing manager, Gabriele Trinker.
“Petit Tirolia” and Golf Bistro offer lifestyle and live broadcasts
The new restaurant “Petit Tirolia” and the golf bistro offer delights from kitchen and cellar virtually around-the-clock. From late autumn, the internationally renowned star chef, Bobby Bräuer, and F&B manager, Patric Neeser, will take over responsibility for the cuisine in the Grand Tirolia and at Golf Eichenheim. The two gastronomy concepts complement one another perfectly. The “Petite Tirolia” offers fine gourmet dining in a stylish ambience, while the golf bistro is a lively hub, open to all golf-club visitors. This ‘hot-spot’ is characterized by the open show-kitchen and large bar-counter, with cozy seating corners affording a good view of the live broadcasts of golf and sporting events. The menu includes popular classics from the world’s most famous golf restaurants, as well as the unbeatable combination of Austrian and Italian cuisine as embodied in Southern Tyrolean cooking. The large sun terrace is also a very popular spot, affording a fantastic view of the breathtaking mountain backdrop of the High Tauern and the Kitzbühel Alps.
Sport and events throughout the year
The harmonious interplay of nature, sport and lifestyle is a key element at Eichenheim. The establishment prides itself on providing guests with individual training from experienced golf coaches under the expert tutelage of golf director, Hans-Jörg Lumpi. After all, golf is one of the best but also most difficult sports in the world. Golf instruction is individually tailored in order to allow players to derive the maximum enjoyment from their game and the well-equipped driving range is the perfect place to practice what they have learned. The range of sporting amenities is rounded off by international golf tournaments, which play an important role in establishing a tradition of summer sports in Kitzbühel in future. In winter, a cross-country circuit and the snow-golf complex with 3 holes will add to Kitzbühel’s ski attractions.
